Still not exactly sure where I stand on this one...I think Gizmodo went a bit overboard with their enthusiasm to get the exclusive story, but I think Apple has probably further alienated the consumers that were already on the fence about their closed technology and pretentious attitude. Like Jon, I love Apple products, but have also been disappointed by their increasingly proprietary system and methods of control. Google certainly has the advantage there.
Were the blogger's rights violated? Maybe a little...but I don't think this is as much a civil rights case as a big PR blunder.
